BEHIND THE PROCESS
How We Make Things
We believe the way something is made matters just as much as the finished piece.
At Plexida, that means making every piece by hand in Greece, producing only what we need and taking the time to make things that are meant to stay with you.
Made by hand, from beginning to end
Every Plexida piece is made entirely by hand in Greece.
One artisan works on each knit from beginning to end, rather than passing it through different stages or a production line.
There are no knitting machines behind our knits. Just skilled hands, traditional techniques and many hours of work.
Made when it’s needed
Most of our pieces are made to order, while others are produced only in small batches.
We make according to real demand, which means less unnecessary stock and less waste.
For us, making less has always made more sense.
We believe in slowness. In things that last. In work that feels human. In making less, but making it well.
Close to home
Our pieces are made in Greece, working closely with local knitters and Greek businesses. It means we know the people behind the work and can stay close to every part of the process.
Less waste
Leftover yarn rarely goes to waste. We keep it for sampling and future projects, and take the same approach to packaging: only what’s needed, with biodegradable materials wherever possible.
Less energy
Our knits are made by hand using simple tools, without industrial knitting machines. It’s a slower way of working, but one that naturally uses very little energy.
Made with materials we trust
The yarns and fibers we work with are chosen for how they feel, how they wear and how well they hold up over time.
From airy kid mohair and wool to cotton and Italian raffia, each material is selected with the finished piece —and its life beyond our hands— in mind.
OUR MATERIALS →Made for real bodies
Whenever the design allows, we can adjust proportions and measurements rather than asking every body to fit the same standard size.
A little more length, shorter sleeves or a different fit — because making by hand gives us room to make things more personal.
CUSTOM KNITWEAR →Made to stay
We think about the life of a piece beyond the moment it leaves our hands.
We want to make fewer things, carefully — things you’ll wear often, look after and keep.
